Central Air Conditioning
In today’s market, it seems that everybody has some type of air conditioner. Although those window units are readily available and affordable, they are costing you more money. They are far less efficient than central air conditioning and don’t offer the same effectiveness. Even a large window air conditioner, capable of cooling bigger spaces, won’t provide consistent cooling. The area directly in front of the unit will be freezing, while another area will be warm.
Ductless Air Conditioning
If your home does not have a duct system or there are areas such as additions or bonus rooms where duct work is not an option then a ductless system may be the answer for you. These units are energy efficient and much more capable of maintaining a uniform comfort level than a window a/c. Ductless systems have built in heat pumps that are capable of effectively heating when outdoor temperatures are as low as -20°.

AC Installation FAQ's
How long does an air conditioner last?
A typical central air system lifespan is generally 10-20 years. There are several factors that can attribute to how long a unit will last before it needs to be replaced. Properly sized and installed units are the most important factors in longevity. It is also important to have your system maintained by a service technician in order to ensure the unit continues optimal performance as it ages.
Why is my AC not working?
There are several things that could cause your A/C to not be working. In most cases there is not much a homeowner can do to fix an A/C problem and it can be potentially dangerous for someone without a refrigeration license and electrical knowledge to try to troubleshoot an A/C that is not working. The best recommendation is to contact a licensed HVAC contractor to set up a service appointment.
Should I keep my AC on all day?
It is recommended to keep your A/C on all day. It is less expensive to run you’re A/C all day than it is to only turn it on when you are home. When running the unit all day the unit does not have to work very hard to maintain a temperature; when the unit has to make up a large temperature difference the unit will have to work harder and longer to achieve the desired temperature. Air conditioning systems remove humidity from the air and in order to maintain a lower humidity level in the home it is important to keep them running. By maintaining humidity you are able to remain comfortable at higher ambient temperatures in your home. Maintaining humidity is one of the most important things a central air system does.
